Ok, so I've signed up. What is this blog stuff all about then? I mean, do I just rabbit on about ZD articles, computer stuff in general, techie stuff in general, pastafarianism, or what?

The blog is your oyster :)
I use my blog to talk about stuff that I don't see featured or reviewed and I think should be on ZD. If you see something lacking or missing on the site why not add it yourself in your blog. I also use it to self promote and share ideas and thoughts.
I hope to read blogs that like ZD is informative and occasionally funny.
But the beauty of this kind of community freedom is that you can do wha t you like on there so there are bound to be some that think outside the box and come up with new an interesting things to do with it.
I'm told more features will be added to the blog in future making it more useful.
The advantage of a ZDBlog over a regular one is there is almost a guranteed audience - other ZD users. With my own personal blog I had to really work to get it noticed and to keep visitors coming back. Here it seems every post generates a comment or a private email so people really do read what you write.
Hello there Rupert does this mean I don't now have to wait till Friday for my diary fix.

Hi, all!
The diary - well, that's not quite settled in yet for various dull technical reasons. The plan is that there'll be entries throughout the week, which may or may not make it into a round-up on a Friday - and stuff that's not been blogged may make it in regardless.
The blogs? Whatever you want. The idea is that while ZDNet readers will of course have a particular interest in what we write about, and will want to talk about that, they'll also have plenty of other interesting aspects to their richly multifaceted lives and will enjoy sharing everything with everyone. But as we have millions of hits per month, it's a good place to hang out if you've got something to say. Hey hey.
It's not up to us, really! In a slightly modified version of the Golden Rule - an' it annoy no solicitors, do what thou will.

Oh - and one hint. Due to a known issue (ahem), if you refresh your browser after leaving a post (you know, like one always does to check that the posting has worked), you'll double-post.
We're working on that. Meanwhile, it's better if you navigate away and back again, it'll be cleaner.

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to add a particular blog to my RSS reader? Thanks!
Hi, Dr
We will be adding RSS feeds for individual blogs - but at the moment, you can't do that. I can't say when this is coming (you should see our list of things we want to do, now we're live and can see the potential at first hand), but I will pass on any requests for features on to the appropriate quarters. That should help set priorities.
Sounds like it's now live... thank you!
