Rupert Goodwins' Diary

The MOD is worried about email viruses. It has a cunning plan - it writes some software called ::mail that spots email scripts which forward nastiness to your entire address book and simply asks "Are you sure?".

Well, fine. Two questions: what happens when virus writers make their little packets of plague send out emails one by one, stepping randomly through the address book instead of doing it all at once, and how on earth do you pronounce ::mail anyway? Colon Colon? Is Joseph Heller working inside the MOD?

Don't answer that. I really don't want to know.
