Excuse me? Egg makes a profit? An online bank? Struggling Internet service sector and all that? You'll be telling me next that sales are up, advertising revenues are getting better, house prices have stabilised, two of my friends just got jobs and I've got a hot date coming up.
Oh.
Now I'm not saying anything, you understand. It's always darkest just before it gets pitch black, and one swallow doesn't make a Monty Python film. But perhaps, just perhaps, there may be a Santa Claus after all. Two parts ho ho ho to one part bah humbug, I think, and God bless us, every one.
