YouTube googles for gold...
Oho - we all knew that there was much more behind the scenes to the GooTube deal than met the eye and now (via Dave Farber's Interesting People mailing list) comes a fascinating and totally uncheckable inside track on what happened to whom and why.
A lot of people bought off with clever deals that let them avoid passing money onto the actual creators of the video content? Surely not! Fireworks to come? Now that I can believe.
Personally, I reckon that staying off YouTube will be like keeping your programming off TV...

That is hilarious, and explains a heck of a lot about the deal, which many of us thought at the time was absolutely nuts. It also could say a lot about Google's approach to, er, not doing evil - but let's see first if the artists do end up getting their cut!
