Back to life...
That was fun.
Christmas in Israel - there's nothing to give a little perspective like driving past Intel's new fab plant to stand on a pile of rubble where four consecutive empires have fallen.
And there's no greater monument to the power of PR and marketing than to stand in Israel and contemplate the fire-blasted monuments erected by the Assyrians to the smashing of Israel. Or by the Babylonians to the smashing of Israel. Or by the Romans to the smashing of Israel. Or by the Islamic empires to the smashing of Israel. And then there's the Holocaust Museum... Empires nil: Jewish people five (after 2700 years of extra time).
But these are not the empires I'm paid to worry about. Mictrosoft is trying to steal CES, Apple IS stealing CES, Yahoo is making the right noises a year too late, open source is fulminating with intrigue and passion, Brazil is wondering how to cut off bits of the Internet while Asia is rather glad to have it back... looks like business as usual.
