Calm down dear, it's only a strategic review

Posted by David Meyer

Pipex has just released its latest results, and Peter Dubens took the opportunity to comment on the feverish speculation surrounding UBS's strategic review for the company (see my take on the furore here).

"The Board notes that there has been a large volume of highly speculative press coverage, and would like to reassure shareholders that the strategic review, which is expected to be completed during the summer, continues to the Board’s satisfaction. Pipex and UBS continue to explore the various options available to the Company and a further announcement will be made in due course."

Well, either they're happy that all their prospective suitors have run away screaming, or those rumours are rubbish and... well, we'll just have to wait and see.

One more interesting point from their statement: apparently Manchester (home to Pipex's main offices) will be the first city to enjoy the company's mobile WiMax, towards the end of this year.
