Symantec deletes vital XP files
According to the Financial Times, Chinese language users of XP had certain inoffensive yet vital files deleted by a Symantec update on Friday.
Affected PCs that were switched off could not be restarted unless the files were reinstalled, said the FT.
The security company pushed out a later update which did not delete the files.
