Sony Vaio RM1N HD Editing Station

Sony has released details of its new VAIO RM1N HD, editing station.

The new system is aimed at HD content editors and features two units. One of the units houses the main system, the other is for optical drives, which is fitted with a Blu-Ray disc unit.

The main system features a four core Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, a pair of 500GB 7200rpm SATA hard drives configured in a RAID 0 set-up for speed, 2GB of DDR 2 memory and an Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS graphics card.

The main unit has room for foure more SATA hard drives, and there are also three open PCI-Express slots capable of taking full-length cards.

The VAIO RM1N will cost for around £2500.
