Olympics budget forgets the cost of IT

Posted by RichardThurston

The Government did not budget for the cost of IT for the Olympic Games, it has emerged this week.

A Public Accounts Committee report revealed that the Olympic Delivery Authority failed to include in its budget £400,000 for "IT and site mobilisation".

No wonder the costs of hosting the Olympic Games usually spiral well beyond initial estimates.

At least it looks as though they saved some money on the logo ;)

I think Coe's nephew who is a doing a graphic design module at college did it.

I was going to say 'unbelievable', but it's not. In any case, £400,000 seems rather short of the mark as well.

Where's the accountability for government inefficiency and incompetency?

No wonder our taxes are so high.
