BSI to give OOXML vote results

Posted by Tom Espiner

The British Standards Institute is today to give the result of its vote regarding whether the UK will approve fast track ISO certification for Microsoft's Office Open XML specification.

The BSI is due to send me a press release within an hour: please watch ZDNet UK for news of the vote.

Microsoft has been severely criticised by some members of the Open Source community for seeking to influence the vote in many countries.

It is not only the Open Source Community which has raised criticism of Microsoft's behaviour, the improper fast tracking, the lack of a rigorous scrutiny taken together with the known deficiencies of and drawbacks to OOXXML as an ISO standard at this time, or at all.
