In The Beginning....
In the year 2000 I was new to home computing. The wife & I (rightly?!) thought of having the latest operating system. We were sold an AMD Athlon 800Mhz Tiny PC, with 128mb of RAM & a 32mb graphics card, running Windows ME. We were talked into a 2 year on-site warranty & paid more than £2200.00, in total.
When the PC kept crashing, we ran up £50 dialling their premium rate telephone number. After doing more than a few system restores, formatting & losing our settings numerous times, Tiny finally relented & replaced our motherboard, on site.
I had started to learn about software & hardware & the journey was just beginning.
