BBC fesses up on Panorama Wi-Fi nonsense

Posted by David Meyer

Remember that travesty of a Panorama report on the evilitude of Wi-Fi? The one with that anti-Wi-Fi guy who just happened to be selling loads of "shielding" paint/mesh/whatever? Well, the BBC's editorial complaints unit has finally ruled that, yes, it was all a bit dodgy.

Yes, Wi-Fi: A Warning Signal "exaggerated the evidence for concern about the potential health hazards of wireless technology". Yes, it "was unbalanced", and yes, it "gave a misleading impression of the state of scientific opinion on the issue".

Naughty naughty! And almost as egregious as those Wi-Fi-autism claims...

Another fine example of license money getting put to good use, but really the title indicated what direction the program was going to take from the start.

I'm waiting for the next program entitled : "The Internet : Online DEATH!", Or maybe not. :)
