IT Service Continuity Management

Posted by mike.cook@bcs.org

What a mind blowing experience!
I've just gone through a day of ITSCM as part of my ITIL Service Management red badge course. It's quite a heavy slog, but it all makes good sense. What a perfect world we would live in if we were allowed to develop continuity plans and have the ability (and authority) to test them properly and regularly, then when the poo really hits the fan, we would be able to prove our worth!

Well done, anything ITIL related is normally heavy going from the start.

In a perfect world would we need continuity plans? :)

But really your are correct about being able to test these plans out properly, as what looks great and correct on paper isn't always the same in real life. It's at those times you feel like your are banging your head against a wall, trying to get people to understand the importance of such things as testing.
