Sneaky peek at Windows Mobile 7

Posted by David Meyer

The InsideMicrosoft blog has some very juicy information about and screenshots of the next version of Windows Mobile. Much as I would love to snaffle it wholesale, it is their own extremely comprehensive and informative scoop, so check it out here.

What's interesting about the new UI is its focus on movement, whether by shaking the phone or making gestures on the toushcreen. Ideas seem to have been filched from several competitors like the iPhone, but Microsoft seems to be about to outdo these rivals. The most interesting point of comparison is actually Microsoft's biggest WinMob partner, HTC, which has recently started adding its own motion-centric enhancements to the OS in an effort to make devices like the Touch series more attractive to the Jesusphone crowd.

Looks like MS took the hint.
