Who's paying the Experts-Exchange experts...

Posted by nico5038

Looks like the experts at Experts Exchange are working for free, but that's not always true.
Few experts are retired and truely working for free, some others are running their own business and using Experts Exchange to fill some slack time and getting new leads for payed hours.

Finally there's the majority that has a job and anticipate in their free time. There's however also a category that's solving problems during working hours and thus effectively stealing from their boss.
As a sample of this category take the #1 Access expert, who's working for a US space agency. Effectively he's payed by the US tax-payers while helping people for "free" at Experts Exchange.
