Knowledge can't be divided, only multiplied

It's the quality of the team that makes a Q&A site work

A professional comment at Experts Exchange. . .

Posted by nico5038

Unbelievable, got a response from Chris a Customer Service Manager from Experts Exchange.

So obviously my blog has readers ;)

Looks like we disagree about the definition of a "professional" comment. So I'll describe my definition:

A professional comment at a "question" site describes a possible solution and wilt teach the questioner to solve a similar problem by him (her) self the next time. It will also give credit to the source of knowledge.

The "credit" part is where Chris draws a line especially for me. Experts Exchange doesn't allow me to add such a "credit" comment when an expert does forget this. Oops, correction, Experts Exchange does allow me to add such a "credit" comment, as long as it's not one particular "expert".

Still waiting for a real argument why it's just me that's suffering with this limitation that's "invented" by the EE staff and not based on any complaint in writing.

It's a known fact that there's one "would be" expert at Experts Exchange that's very sloppy in giving credits and certainly no star in explaining the "why" of a solution. So as long as I don't have the possibility to reveal at Experts Exchange the flaws of this expert's "solutions" (and making sure the Premium members get value for their now wasted $$'s), I'm not interested in any form of cooperation.

As I do stand for quality and freedom of speech, I'll consider to make a weekly blog with some improvements of given "answers" by this "would be" expert. Saves EE the trouble of removing my comments, saves me the effort to check or my comments are still there and finally does support my motto "Knowledge can't be divided, only multiplied".

AKA nico5038, modulo and GranMod at Experts Exchange :(
Now happy helping people at the free site bytes.com !

Nice detail, the signature "pitch" of Chris is stating "More IT experts". Guess suspending me (and others) does need this sales pitch to be changed into "Less IT experts"...
