First UK ID Card unveiled
At 11.30 on Thurs, Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, is set to show off the first National ID Card to journalists at an event at the Home Office. The card is only going to be aimed at immigrants initially who will have to carry the card from November.
Expect more on this later when the press has had time to question the Home Secretary.

I've heard that the new ID cards are causing a bit of a stir. Apparently the one for the British people only has the bull on it and yet the immigrant one has all British flags on it.
Why does the British one not display the British flags on it, and yet has a picture of a bull which is a common symbol for Spain? Are we all getting taken over in the UK by Spain?
First Brussels wanted to take over a bit of our country by getting us to join the EU and now Spain wants a bit of our ID cards.
I've heard also that the bull is supposed to be Europa and how the continent was named, I'm quite sure the blue flag with yellow stars is more appropriate as a symbol of Europe as this is something which everyone recognises.
It's like sticking a flag with a yellow cross on a black background on something that is Cymraeg, instead of the red dragon, not many people would realise that this is the cross of Dewi Sant (Saint David), but lots of people would instantly associate the red dragon with Cymru.
