Macbooks, iPhones and iPods going WiMax?
According to this here article, Apple has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Telecom to start sticking WiBro (basically the Korean version of WiMax) into iPods and Macbooks.
For regulatory reasons, Cupertino hasn't been allowed to launch the iPhone 3G into the HSDPA-rich Korean market, so the idea of WiBro-enabled iPhones also makes a certain amount of sense. The article also reports that the Korean government is considering rescinding their rather weird regulation, which currently mandates the insertion of a standardised middleware layer (called WIPI) into all 3G smartphones.
