Aussie ISPs just say 'no' to filtering

Posted by Tom Espiner

Australian ISPs are not exactly falling over themselves to trial a scheme by the government to filter web content, according to an Ars Technica article.

Internet censorship is dodgy at the best of times -- I immediately think of repressive regimes and human rights abuses -- but there is plainly a case that some content is not in the public interest to show. Filtering all content for an entire country probably won't be all that effective, I suspect, especially as P2P won't be filtered.
