A Special Job Opportunity

Posted by Xwindowsjunkie

I was doing my website news scan of the morning when I was somewhat startled to have a 30 second "advert" as ya'll say pop up on my screen. In between a story about a kid fighting off a coyote with a snowboard and another about a US college football player faced with the choice of an NFL career or a Rhodes scholarship (really!), up pops an ad looking for "a few good spies" to join the CIA! I hadn't thought much about it but that is a good job to have if there ever was one during a recession.

'Course you can't talk to your buddies or your significant other about what you do for a living. Cost of living in Virginia and Maryland is kind of high but public transportation is pretty good. I suspect that fluency in Arabic or Persian and other Middle Eastern languages would put you on the fast track but also might make you suspect. Russian might not be a bad language to know either.

One other thing I know is that the CIA doesn't seem to discriminate on any bias, ethnic, nationality, gender etc. they need all kinds of spies, analysts, translators, web hackers, system crackers, etc.

For the following paragraph, please hear me out and don't go off the deep end.

Mr McKinnon, if he loses his last appeal with the PM, might want to think about making a deal with CIA. If he's any good at cracking, he could work his US Federal sentence down by doing work for them. I do not know the job climate in the UK but from what I've heard, there is a lot of unemployment. Mr McKinnon might find it hard to get work in the UK yet he evidently has some skills that might be useful to apply in the battle against terrorists. If he could do to al Queda's websites what he allegedly did to the US Navy, I'd count that as a win for him and for the CIA. It also turns him into a taxpayer instead of an expense for the US and UK taxpayers.

That's interesting! our own MI6 have been running a recruitment drive on face book. Unemployment is a problem here, but even worse and I beleve a global disgrace and embarasment for our country is people not being paid properly for the work they do, I mean our minimum wage is not enough for people to live on. People work hard and don't make enough to get by for gods sakes!! It makes me really mad grrrr.

I wonder if the target terrorist organisations have put passwords on their servers.

It might make a difference to McKinnon's hit rate...
