Police did not search parliamentary server

Posted by Tom Espiner

The police did not access Damian Green's emails, or the parliamentary server, the speaker of the House has told MPs.

According to an article on the BBC, Speaker Michael Martin told MPs that "no access" had been given to police, and that in the future a warrant would be necessary before access is given.

The speaker has been criticised for allowing police to enter Green's offices and arrest him eleven days ago. Two Parliamentary inquiries have been ordered into the search of Green's office and his arrest.
