Cisco releases WebEx app for iPhone 3G
Cisco has released a web conferencing and collaboration application for the iPhone.
The WebEx Meeting Center app lets users join and collaborate in WebEx meetings from their Apple handsets, via Wi-Fi and/or the 3G cellular network. The app, which is available as a free download from the iPhone App Store, was released on Tuesday.
Cisco has a statement on the matter, which incorporates various quotes about the iPhone being "in the mainstream, exploding outwards" (is such a thing possible?), but the news is fairly simple: WebEx now works on the iPhone.
As with other ways of using WebEx, it's free to use unless you're trying to set up a conference, in which case you'll need a WebEx subscription. A future version should also incorporate instant messaging etc, but we don't yet know when that's coming.
