Mozilla's Fennec on Windows Mobile next week

An interesting snippet of information has popped up on a Mozilla wiki: it seems that Fennec, the mobile answer to Firefox, will make its way to Windows Mobile in the first week of February. So, next week then.

The first device to be targeted will be the HTC Touch Pro - the only previous device to get Fennec was Nokia's developer-oriented N810 Linux tablet. It seems Mozilla's also working on Symbian, but not yet in a successful fashion.

ooh, that's interesting news!
I have the HTC Touch Pro (& very nice it is too!), so think I might well be downloading this browser when it's ready... will be intersting to compare it to Opera which came preinstalled by HTC

any news on fennec? i don't seem to be able to find anywhere to DL it... or has the project stalled?

Check out our recent Q&A with Mozilla's mobile chief here - the Fennec project is going full steam ahead. The end product is not, however, called Fennec, apparently.

Mozilla's mobile page is here. I'm not sure as yet how far the Windows Mobile version of Firefox has progressed.
