Reports: Snow Leopard APIs frozen

Posted by David Meyer

The application programming interfaces for the next version of Apple's desktop operating systems have reportedly been frozen, suggesting that no further serious enhancements are to be added prior to the OS's release.

AppleInsider is carrying a quote from the documentation that accompanied private build 10A354 of OS X 10.6, saying: "no further API changes are planned for Snow Leopard." The publication notes that application developers can probably now develop for the renewed platform without fear of last-minute changes from Apple's side.
