OpenOffice.org 3.1 Released

Posted by J.A. Watson

OpenOffice.org has released their latest (3.1) version. While this new release doesn't have a "major" change, nothing along the lines of adding MS Office 2007 file reading, it does have a lot of bug fixes, usability enhancements and some new features which together add up to a worthwhile upgrade. The Release Notes contain a complete but very dense outline of changes. The New Features document gives a more readable description of what is new and interesting in this release.

You can download and install the latest version for Windows, Linux, Solaris or MacOS X. If you are using one of the popular Linux distributions, there is a good chance that this version will come through as an update in the near future.
