O2 to allow iPhone tethering

Posted by David Meyer

One of the many details announced in the Apple WWDC keynote, going on at the moment, was that O2 is one of the iPhone carriers who will allow tethering.

Tethering allows the handset to be used as a mobile broadband modem for a PC. O2 was listed as one of 22 iPhone carriers who will allow this functionality, which obviates any need for a 3G dongle.

AT&T, in the United States, was not one of the listed carriers who will support tethering.

Apple has also allowed remote-kill functionality for iPhone users, along with the ability for them to locate their lost iPhones.
