Clonezilla rocks the house!
After installing Windows XP, updating it, restarting it, authenticating it, and then installing a stack of Free Software from the OpenDisc DVD, and configuring that (with probably a few more restarts thrown in), I thought, with 3 machines to go:
“I don’t want to do this again…”
So I didn't. I used Clonezilla instead. It’s a rescue disc and a backup utility. Essentially a customised Linux with tools and instructions for you to make a disk image which can then be quickly written onto other PCs.
Thank you oh mighty Clonezilla, big hugs all round :)

Clonezilla is probably the best I have ever used for backing up a disk, and then installing to another machine. The time saved is incredible.
Thank you very much. Its exactly what I've been looking for not only for work but for use here at home also.
