Book reviews!
http://www.pelicancrossing.net/zdbooks.htm
This blog is an effort to do two things:
1) Make the book reviews more visible
2) Get some discussion going around books. While it's true that there isn't much to say (unless you're very technical) about computer *product* books, those aren't what we review. I try to pick things that are actually important books - that consider policy, security, business innovation, and other topics that make a difference to either thought or practice in the long run. Or make wonderful gifts.
I would also welcome suggestions for books you think should be reviewed that I have overlooked or that you hear of and what to know more about.
The next couple of posts will point to the most recently reviewed titles.

Well they is one book I've recently got hold of that i recommend as a good read baring in mind I've still not finished yet, that can be classed as either perceptual difference in the way that people think and approach things, and or as a gift.
That book is called Angels In My Hair, by the author Lorna Bryne.
I see I need to be a bit more precise. The books do need to concern themselves with the IT industry or have some relation to IT. That might, in the "gift" category go so far as novels with cyber-related themes (artificial intelligence, cryptography, and so on). But it really doesn't stretch to books about angels, I'm afraid. More commonly, we review books relating to any one or more of the three themes of business, policy/law, and current events - but all relating to IT.
So, while you're free to recommend that book, we won't be reviewing it.

I've checked the files, and we haven't written about angels on ZDNet UK. While there are certainly many manifestations of supernatural forces in the industry - how else can one adequately explain LOLcats? - we've yet to find much evidence of effective angelic intervention in networking, storage, server technology or Apple's product strategy.
On the other hand, it should be said that Metatron has a really cool tech name. For an angel, that is. This could be the first evidence that heaven has hackers, although we're not really qualified to speculate about what IT infrastructure underlies the Heavenly Hosts. But we do suspect St Peter of having a pearly Gateway PC.
You realize I hope that in the eyes of many, that ZDNet UK and US have both written many times about the arch-enemies of the angelic hosts, the Redmondites of the Dark Side. LoL!
