Site-build checklist

Of late, I have been indulging in some Community Payback. No, not the bedevilled government scheme to mete out justice to ne’er do wells. Rather, I’ve been teaching, in a pro bono fashion, a short workshop at the local community cafe on How To Build A Web Site. This is payback for all the relatively large sums of money I’ve earned over the years in the web world, on the back of open standards and open software.

I wrote a checklist for my students on what is required for building their sites, and I used this very same list for myself and a client. I have found that setting out your objective and strategy and planning the process really helps in focussing the mind. As for the nitty-gritty technicalities, this is where you can learn, do it yourself and/or employ someone else.
