Brutally Frank
You've got to admire someone who is willing to make brutally frank assessments. The Skype Cheerleaders (aka The Skype Journal) have just published an interview with Ben Lilitenthal about the Citrix HiDef Conferencing product. When asked about Skype's SILK wideband audio codec (which was "given away" by Skype some time ago with great ballyhoo, followed by a resounding THUD), he made two comments:
"we're a little reluctant to make the investment because Skype seems to be eating their young"
"Besides, do I want a relationship with a partner who may throw me out the door?"
How true, how true.
