SAP and Intel team up for research
SAP and Intel Labs announced plans on Monday to enter into a strategic research collaboration into cloud computing and sustainable IT, located in Belfast.
The SAP and Intel Collaboratory will be based together at the SAP Research Centre.
The Collaboratory's long term goal is to develop technologies that will support efficient implementation of software-as-a-service (SaaS) using cloud technologies. The partnership will focus on topics including energy efficient ICT implementations, new computing architectures, and ICT enabling energy efficiency.
Intel said in a statement that the relationships that both companies have with two local universities, Queens University and University of Ulster, could mean that the knowledge is shared between academia and industry, allowing students to develop industrially relevant research.
