This Crap Site
I mean HOW utterly stupid.... I have done sweet FA, I have only rejoined this site after a 3 or 4 year absence.....
And I have only posted about 3 comments so far - and if that is what it takes to become so highly ranked; it really is pathetic.

Congratulations on getting into the top 40 so quickly!
On a more serious note - the site rankings are for entertainment value only, as they say. There's a rather complex formula behind them that was designed at a time when the site was going to be rather different than it is today, and it doesn't work very well.
Sorry about that. I don't like having duff gen on the site either.
There is a major redesign of the site underway, about which I shall say little now but lots later, and we're focussed on planning and making some big changes (which most certainly include details of community such as the ranking system. Oh yes indeedy). One of the side effects of this project is that we're not making the sort of continuous incremental changes that you might expect - any effect would be short-term and probably wouldn't justify the amount of testing and checking required to ensure that there are no unintended consequences.
The best way to decide whether the community of the site is any good is to look at the community home page and see whether you like what's happening there. We've got some great bloggers who create some top content, and you are most welcome to join them!
