Skype what a total waste of time and money.

This is a total and utter disgrace for a company who is earning millions of pounds a year and does not seem to care one cent about it's customers.

CONGRATULATIONS Skype you have done it again.

Posted by a1gjv

CONGRATULATIONS Skype I see you have done it again with this statement Change devices easily. Change your headset, headphones or microphone without having to touch your settings which can be found here. Yet again another operation that is not possible for everybody. There are already posts on the forum here and here where it does not work WHY.

I am at a total loss as why you make these statements are still being made without fully testing ALL the available combination's of audio equipment that can be connected to Skype BEFORE you you make such rash statements. It was the exact same when HG Video came out, everybody was screening for it but when it finally arrived 90% of the people could not receive it.

I am sure you have a very good development team as has been proved by the vast advances you have made but, you biggest downfall every single time is lack of testing before you put the product on the market and it would seem you STILL have not learnt your lesson. I know have have said this time and time again, if you don't wake up to this fact and make sure every thing works first time when you take it out of the box, or in this case download it from you site, then people will just walk away.

LET US UNITE AND SUE SKYPE (DRAG THEM TO COURT)

Posted by a1gjv

There is a lot of shouting and stamping of feet on the Skype Forum of late "LET US UNITE AND SUE SKYPE (DRAG THEM TO COURT)" but I don't see any action being taken on this, I wonder why. REMENBER ACTIONS TALK LOUDER THAT WORDS, Is it because they are to scared or have not got the money for such a legal action.

I do not use any paid services because of all the payment problems over 144 pages of them now, does that not tell you something about Skype, yes of course it does, they could not care less about there paying customers or any of the other people that use the free part of Skype.

Since the new CEO Josh Silverman took over control what has improved as far as I can tell NOTHING and as for his so call interview four week after he became CEO what a sham that was , I ask you how can you have an unbiased interview when you are being question by Skype's very own PR department. It would appear that Mr Silverman has not got the courage of his convictions to stand up come out and face the people who help to pay his vast salary each week.

I really wish that these people who keep shouting about taking a CLASS ACTION against Skype would do it because that is what is needed to get it into their heads that you don't play with customers money, you either give them what they have paid for, a full refund or get out of the business of provided paid VoIP service. The Josh Silverman CEO of Skype interview sham.

Posted by a1gjv

I have just read the interview with Josh Silverman the new Skype CEO and what a sham interview it was. Talk about bias, bias is not the word.

Tell me how can you get the answers to questions that MUST and NEED to be answered when it is so stage managed. What is the matter with you Josh are you to frightened to come out and face the REAL world and the REAL problems that are happening at Skype this very moment.

This interview cannot be call a proper interview  when the person asking the questions is none other than Skype's very own publicity department therefore they are not going to ask him the most IMPORTANT things like when are we going to get a customer service that works or HQ Video that works for everybody no matter what platform or web camera they use, if companies like ooVoo and SightSpeed can di it why can't Skype do it, because I think they have got themselves into such a deep deep hole with this there is not a ladder long enough to reach down to them to pull them out.

Josh we don't want bells and whistles at the moment we want a system and Customer Service that works but at the moment everything is going backwards not forwards. From the comments in your staged interview it would seem you are being miss guided and only told the thinks that people what you to know, like we are developing Skype to integrated with this gismo or that gismo etc.

Yes I know we have to have development and I am all for it but, this development must be done on a stable working platform which at the moment Skype does not have. Josh it would seem that you either do not listen to what your customers say or if you do you choose the pretend to be deaf because is was suggested here what need to be done first and not a thing has been put right.

So what has the new Skype CEO done since he joined Skype.

Posted by a1gjv

Well it is over a month now since Josh Silverman joiner Skype as their new CEO and what has happened since then. Well as far as I can tell looking at the posts on the Skype Forum very little, in fact every thing seems to of got worse. There is now a major problem with Skype and PayPal and here that Skype know about but all we keep hearing is via the Moderators (and I don't put any blame onto them) is we are looking into it, that was 3 weeks ago they can't be looking very hard if it has taken this long.

There is a new beta version out 3.8.0.96 that according to Skype and the changed log was supposed to fix many of the problems that were still present in 3.6.0.248, if fact it would seem from the many post about video problem with the new 3.8 Beta that very little has changed and dose not look like changing for a long time to come.

Many people are going back to older version just to get there video to work and in my mind that makes good sense but some bad logic on Skype part or are they not taking any notice on what the clients are doing IMHO I think not. It would seem that Skype getting into bed with Logitech have bitten off more than it can chew and are to frightened to admit it therefore I think for business and video calling Skype is on the decline but for normal IM and Skype to Skype chat all seem to work fine for a very large amount of people, it is when they connect up their web cameras that all the trouble starts.

Skype just forget about HQ video a nd concentrate on your customer service which is again like the payment system just not working.

Will we ever see HQ video from Skype that works I am beginning to wonder.

Posted by a1gjv

Well it seems like a year now since Skype announced their all singing all dancing HQ (High Quality and I still have not see anybody post on the Skype forum saying that they have this new so call HQ video working, in fact there any many post and this is just one of them where they meet all the Skype requirements but STILL cannot get HQ Video to work and what are Skype doing about it well very little it seems. They have bought out a new beta version 3.8.0.96 which according to Skype would solve a large about of the videos problems and even improve the audio as well. In fact the video in many cases is worse and the audio has not changed at all it is still as good as it was in 3.6. You will see many comments on the forum by people in the know advising those who have any kind of problem with their video to use a program called Splitcam and in most cases it has solved there problem, therefore is they can do it why can't Skype do it also. Just look at the Skype Video Forum to see the number of people where Splitcam has solved their problem.

The best advise I can give if you want HQ Video is DON'T use Skype because it looks like it will take many many months if not years to solve these problems..
