More time to enter San Francisco contest

Posted by Karen Friar

Just a quick note to let members know that we've extended the deadline on our competition to win a trip to San Francisco for the RSA Conference 2008 in April or a full pass to RSA Europe 2007 in London next month.

To recap, all you have to do is post entries in our Sentry Posts group blog on security management. Any comments go--whether you're reacting to the report that Apple was second only to Microsoft in disclosed flaws or just sharing your security tips. The competition now closes 28 September--so get writing.

As a bonus, there's a freebie available for all ZDNet readers from RSA Europe, the sponsors of the competition. Exhibition passes for the event usually go for £25; you can get them for nada. Just register online at http://www.rsaconference.com/2007/europe/ and enter the registration code RSACCNET07 for a free exhibition-only pass to the security event, which takes place 22-24 October at ExCel. Alternatively, you can turn up on the day and quote the code to have the fee waived.

Security bloggers — win a trip to San Francisco

Posted by Karen Friar

Here at ZDNet Towers, we're keen to reward deserving members with a visit to foreign lands — just see our successful Blogger at Large competition. Take part in our latest contest, sponsored by RSA Conference Europe, and you could win a trip to San Francisco for the RSA Conference 2008.

RSA 2008 competition

All you have to do is to post entries to Sentry Posts, our group blog on security management. Share insights on what works in protecting your company's data, or give your views on what the next challenge will be. How do you deal with remote working and mobile threats? What's the best way of educating employees about security issues? How much responsibility do admins have in shutting out attacks?

The person who makes the most valuable contribution to the group blog will be flown to San Francisco in April for RSA Conference 2008. They'll also get a full pass to the equivalent event in London next month, RSA Conference Europe 2007. A second prize winner will also receive a full delegate pass to the UK security conference.

The competition closes 21 September. [UPDATE: Now extended to 28 September.] If you're a Europe-based ZDNet member, just start posting blogs on security subjects (don't forget to click the checkbox for Sentry Posts on the posting form). If you're not a member, it's a matter of minutes to sign up — start an account here. For more information, take a look at the competition page. Good luck!
