Skype what a total waste of time and money.

This is a total and utter disgrace for a company who is earning millions of pounds a year and does not seem to care one cent about it's customers.

Skype 4.0 Ugh!!!! what have they done to what was a good looking program

Posted by a1gjv

I have just downloaded the new Skype 4.0 Beta to see what it looked like. The next thing I did after that was rush to the toilet to throw up because what hit me in the face when it started was an absolute monster of a program.

The program starts in full screen mode and when I say full screen mode it literally fills your screen with the option panel now on the left hand side and to top this there is NO provision to start it minimised in the tool bar. If you want to see what I mean have a look here then after that move onto the video showing you all about it here.

While you are watching this video please pay very careful attention to what the people on the video say. One of the comment that both people made was to say they have listened to what the customer wants well if that is so why have they now produced this bloated load of rubbish and called it a step forward into the feature, do they think we are all stupid or something. The new package reminds me of the very first cell phones that came out, one small neat hand set on top of a ten ton battery, only Skype have done it is the reverse order. They bought out a nice neat package, yes with a few problem which are slowly getting ironed out and replaced that with the good old hand set and ten ton of battery.

I am sure there will be people who will like it, I for one Don't and will stick with 3.8 unless I am forced to 4.0 and if it has not gone back to the 3.8 style it's bye bye Skype for me. You only have to look here to see what people think about it.

I think it is now gone far enough and therefore it is time for Skype users to take a stand and say enough is enough, why are you not listening to what we want. We are again going the way that happened with HQ video with Skype telling US what we want not the other way round, but may be that is the way the Russians work like the old Stalin days you will have what we tell you to have.

So what has the new Skype CEO been doing for the last 3 months.

On the 12th March 2008 I wrote this article regarding Josh Silverman Joining Skype as the new CEO. What you have to bear in mind here is the date 12th March 2008 because according to this article which is dated 9th June 2008, saying "This week will mark the first month on the job for Skype CEO Josh Silverman".

Note the time scale here, 4 months therefore if this is his first month on the job what has he been doing for the other 3 months I wonder. It would seem very little which I pointed out here and from the interview made on 9th June 2008 he has still done very little or even nothing it would seem.

Reading through the article the man seems to be a very good talker, and there is nothing wrong with that, but he is not talking about the problems that NEED to be fixed, all he keeps talking about is what we are going to be doing in 5 or 10 years time, great but lets get the current problems sorted out first otherwise there will be no 5 or 10 years time.

At the moment this seems to be purchasing Skype credit which is a very hit and miss affair. If you are lucky to get it right first time then thank your lucky start if not and you have your account blocked WITH credit showing on your account then you could be waiting a very long time for Skype to reactivate your account because of their sham of a payment system.
