New MacBooks and MacBook Pros - Beauty inside and out ?
As a first snippit to what's new the advent of a glass trackpad with no click button - the trackpad is the button- is perhaps the biggest feature. A mini display port instead of a dvi port. Much beefed up new Nvidia 9400m chip + an added discreet 9600 GT chip which must make video and games fly on this beast. A black bezel and full flush glass screen a la imac. Many Macbook air curves, chiclet keyboard.
This morning's launch narrative was much about how they make them from one piece of aluminium as anything else, all precision good fit stuff so may be the days of wonky warping lids are over for Apple.
Sneakily you might think the new macbooks have dropped in price but that is apple just selling of the old white ones.
The Macbooks are now more expensive and the 17 inch Macbook pro has no redesign on the outside yet too.
Oh yes these new models are a shave thinner but no lighter and this is big if your an apple fan come in small more compact boxes.
Back tomorrow will more details and perhaps some hands on pics
Let the unboxing begin !

The Spotlight turns to notebooks - Apple event is on next tuesday
With all the buzz centered around the possible brick aluminum manufacturing process perhaps there may be a whole new line of touchscreen tablets too ?
Who wants more ports on their Macbook Air and a big processing boost please for the slim jim of apple. Anyway see you tuesday for the RIP on the era of white plastic at Apple...

New MacBooks Next week
Add to that some MacBook air curves and thinness, a NVIDIA MCP7A-U video chipset and a 120HDD like new new Ipod classics and you have now across the line Aluminum manufacturing (maybe that Brick rumour is true after all)
That said Apple usually holds an event for new products and upgrade insides of machines online only. With all the portables due a facelift including even the MacBook Air I wonder if Apple are holding off until their San Francisco event in the New Year.
