34 years in the industry before retiring in 2004.
Worked for Burroughs, Univac and Amdahl/Fujitsu.
Retired as Senior Staff Field Engineering Specialist providing over many years, Technical Support UK, Europe and Worldwide on IBM/Amdahl mainframes and Fujitsu/Sun SPARC Enterprise Servers.
Worked on final development of our mainframe and SPARC systems.
Taught Mainframe and SPARC systems to Engineers as well as installing and supporting Solaris on SPARC.
A Linux buff since the first kernel was issued. Installed Linux on a variety of hardware including Mainframe and SPARC servers.
Hobbies are Linux, Amateur radio license G3VBV held since 1965 and a Licensed Private Pilot since 1992. Designing and building amateur radio equipment, just about to enter the field of experimenting with Software Defined Radio (SDR).
Qualified Cricket Coach.
