Professional Biography
I'm currently head of content development for LexisNexis. Prior to this I held several posts with ZDNet.co.uk where I helped build the site in my capacity as site director/editor-in-chief.
I've been writing about tech since the 386 and programming and breaking it for somewhat longer. Previous jobs include reporting on the dot-com boom from San Francisco for a horribly short year and a half, and several years running a newspaper in Papua New Guinea.
I've done a fair bit of chairing and moderating conferences; I'm a founding co-chair of the CNET UK Business Technology Awards; sit on several other awards panels; and apparently am number 44 in the UK Press Gazette list of the New Media Establishment. Now I know when I draw up lists of 50 things that whatever goes at number 44 is usually a filler, but it's a nice thought nonetheless.
