Professional Biography
I was programming in Fortran before the Internet or C existed and I hated it. (Try programming with 80 column IBM punch cards!) I have been designing Windows NT 4.0 and XP Embedded systems. Hopefully soon I can add Linux embedded systems to my resume. I have been employed for nearly 10 years by a couple of companies in the Texas oil and gas industry. Previous work has been in television news, broadcasting, video post-production and digital radio modem design.
I have personal interests in human space exploration, alternative green energy systems and science fiction. My interest in Linux servers and workstations crystallized after I beta-tested Vista!
I write the blog as mental therapy having had to spend my billable hours as a Windows XP Pro and Embedded systems hacker. As long as the Gorilla keeps screwing up his products, I'll be employed, (:-)>.
