Professional Biography
I have been working as an IT journalist for over 20 years. In recent times I have focused on datacentre technologies, with a special interest in networking, security and virtualisation such as VMware, Microsoft and XenSource - used for both virtual server and desktop systems.
My background in this area is a mix of journalism and hands on experience. I have been writing about virtualisation for over five years. In addition, I run an email system for various clients that operate in financial services; and an accountancy system for Europe's largest importer of biofuels. Both run on VMware based servers, and I designed the server and SAN storage architecture and manage these systems myself. The email system has been running since 2004, and the accountancy system since 2005.
I passed various vendor training programs, notably the VMware Certified Professional training program for ESX Server. I also work closely with BBL UK Services - http://www.ukservicesllp.com/bios.htm
