Professional Biography
I have 11 years experience in business-to-business marketing, working with large corporate firms IBM and Swiss Re, and latterly B2B technology providers Marlborough Stirling and Sift Group Ltd.
Most recently, I joined Sift Media in November 2006 as a member of the executive management team to lead marketing, e-commerce, strategic partnerships, technology and operations. In June 2007, Sift Media acquired UK Business Forums, the UK’s most active online community for small businesses and startups, of which I hold the role of Chairman. My academic studies ended in 1997 with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Decision Analysis from UWE Bristol.
I have provided analysis and commentary for major social research initiatives, including The Tomorrow Project and Swiss Re’s flagship publication, Insurance Report. My marketing background includes: managing IPO and acquisition communications for Marlborough Stirling’s flotation and Sift Group’s acquisitions; launching a range of industry seminars; corporate brand management; lead generation strategies; website launch; and events.
I have spoken at industry conferences on the practicalities of managing online communities, including the International Direct Marketing Fair and the Specialised Information Publishers Association.
