Professional Biography
I have a post graduate degree in Law, a college degree in Economics, and am currently serving as a counsellor in our community, which is the smallest local government unit in the executive branch of our country.
I had previous experiences with computers, telecommunications and marketing in my pre - Law school days working in different companies ( a Sumitomo subsidiary, Far Eastern Corp., Philcom Telecommunications Phils.) and sort of rekindled that interest after acquiring an Asus eee pc. Having been intrigued by the simplicity and utter practicality of the device, I tried to see how you could extend it's functions. The series of experiments conducted lead me to installing Ubuntu which I found to my liking. It also led me to the Shuttleworth Foundation where I filed and am trying to secure a way to acquire used old computers with edubuntu installed that I may deploy in our and in neighboring daycare center's facilities. I also am advocating the use of Ubuntu as an alternative to rampant use of pirated software. I am not saying that MS's windows cannot provide what Ubuntu can but rather that Ubuntu seems to me, to be the better alternative. It is not perfect but it truly seems to be a better alternative considering the over all package including costs and access to/availability. I also like what Ubuntu stands for and far be it for me to be described as an idealist, Ubuntu's aspirations and goals coupled with the founder's visions seems quite good.
